The experts of the panel consolidated all the data and best practices into an abstract presented at EuroPCR 2025 in the Nurses and allied professionals' abstracts session.

OUR AMBITION: PRESERVE RADIAL ACCESS

  • Radial access has become standard practice in cardiology1,2 and is rising as a safe access with improved clinical outcome for endovascular interventions3. 
     
  • Radial Artery Occlusion (RAO) remains the most frequent post procedural complication of radial access, despite the existence of recommendations to prevent periprocedural RAO4. 
     
  • Achieving non occlusive or patent hemostasis is one of the key measures to prevent RAO4.
     
  • Keeping the radial artery open is crucial to preserve radial access for future interventions.
