RADIAL ACCESS PROTOCOL

Prior to procedure Allen test is performed. Radial artery is then palpated by the operator before gaining access using a 5F sheath for diagnostic procedures or 6F for interventions. Ultrasonography is seldom used in more challenging cases or in patients with non-pulsatile flow (on LVAD, ECMO).

TR BANDTM APPLICATION PROTOCOL

At the end of the procedure sheath is withdrawn by 2-3cm. TR band is positioned with the green dot above the puncture site and inflated with 15ml of air, sheath is then fully removed. When bleeding occurs, additional 3ml of air are inserted up to a maximal volume of 18ml.
