RADIAL ACCESS PROTOCOL

Almost 80 % our cases are done via radial aproach, site of insertion and size of sheats depends on Allan test, how we can palpate radial artery and also preferences of doctor who is providing procedure. In 90 % of daycase patient are used sheats size 5 FR especially for dignostic, for patients ongoing intervention are used 6 FR sheats. Our well educated staff are using Terumo TR bands to secured site of insertion of sheat and to make sure to achieve proper hemostasis. Using radial aproch for regular coronarogryphy and PCI is elegant choice and very benefitial for our patinets as well as for our doctors they are sure that we as nurses are well educated , skilled and expirienced with handling of TR bands . We are happy that we are using this aproach for more than 90% our patients.

TR BANDTM APPLICATION PROTOCOL

During procedure we are checking vital signs as you can see everything is within normal range. We are also checking oxygen saturation after TR band inflation on hand where is TR band applied, to be sure that there is right oxygenation and blood flow. This procedur eis almost same as Allen test as mention before. Chosing right size of TR band, using PPE and aseptique technic during and after sheat removal and TR band aplication is standart for our deparment . Whole procedure is charted in patient documentation . We have special chart in nurses documentation, nurses are writing down all important aspects as a time of TRband aplication, amounth of air inflated in TR band , first time of air removal and next time due for another removal.
